For the first time, a deaf-mute model will compete for the title of Miss Global Philippines 2017. Christine Balaguer hopes to walk away with the crown during coronation night on June 24th, 2017. The 27-year-old beauty will be representing the Province of Aklan.
Balaguer is not new to the pageant world. She is a successful model with Elite Model Management. She also competed in Miss World Philippines 2014 where she placed in the Top 13 and won Miss Friendship. She was also first runner-up in Miss Manlia 2015. She was suppose to compete in Bb. Pilipinas 2015 but claims she was forced to withdraw from the competition by pageant organizers. The organization never released a statement about the claims.
But her dream of a national title is not over yet as she is preparing for the 2017 Miss Global Philippines competition. She is contestant number 20.
“It’s my inspiration and I want the people to see me even though I am a deaf I can join a pageant,” she told The Pageant Planet.
If Balaguer wins, she will go on to compete in the Miss Global Pageant.
